WRITER/DIRECTOR

DOUGLAS KNOX

Born in Seattle and raised in Washington State, Douglas Knox has been a working professional in the industry for many years.  With dozens of feature scripts and nearly as many pilots tucked away in his files, he's poised to break out in a serious way.

Starting out as a professional musician, Douglas studied the art of cinema while on the road with his band and working in the Home Video Industry.  He wrote three feature scripts before he ever attempted to start pitching to the industry.  Eventually, he was given a blind  development deal at USA Networks and optioned several scripts.

After working for two season on the hit NBC hidden-camera show "Spy TV", Douglas took a short break from Hollywood, only to return and find the TV industry obsessed with nothing but reality content.  Instead, he began to focus on the emerging New Media market and began crafting ideas tp be shot as webseries.  He also self financed and produced a short film ("The Woman Beside Me") and a comedy pilot ("Flushing Guppies") before commencing work on what would be the some of the best of his career.

"Afraid" started as a feature script but then ballooned into a prospective dramatic TV series.  It is the story of a group of friends, the secrets that they share and the ones that are just unspeakable.  In a very short span of time, Douglas crafted three seasons worth of episodes and outlined another two.  At the insistence of one of his colleagues, he then adapted the first season of "afraid" into a series of books that have been published through Amazon.com and have sold thousands of copies around the world.

Since then, Douglas has turned several of his feature projects into hard-hitting TV series.  He is currently shopping the pilots for "Beauty School", "Room 17" and "Useless Talk" while also raising funding for feature scripts like "Don't Forget Me", "Replay" and "The Used."

"Seven Xs" is an extremely personal project for him.  Digging deep within his own experiences and those he has witnessed in others, there is an honest desire to not only help people see the mistakes they make within their own relationships while reconciling the demons of his own past.  He would like to invite you all to come and witness this powerful show and to be part of this new emerging group of actors and filmmakers who intent to take the industry by storm.
