THE BOOKS

BOOK 9 - "SEE, ALICE?"

Everyone needs a break now and then. However, it seems Russ will never get one. His attempts at consummating the relationship with his latest conquest prove frustrating, causing Rita to come to the rescue. When this carefully planned "action" goes awry, it fuels a last minute trip to the doctor. Nicole announces the winners of the Presidential Report Pizza Party...and someone who was an obvious choice is mysteriously left off the list. Renee readies herself for the big night she has always wanted. Some people just don't know how to handle rejection.

And when I awoke, I was alone.

This bird has flown.

--The Beatles

BOOK 10 - FAITHLESS

Everything has a beginning and an end. Rarely do they happen all in the same night. Nicole chaperones the Prom when an unexpected party crasher makes a move on her. Rita hits what she feels may be the bottom of her life, but is given a gift she'll never forget instead. Robert receives news regarding Rachel that is both welcome and daunting at the same time. However, Russ gets one more chance at happiness but struggles with his own inner demons before taking that fateful last step. At long last, Renee's big night has come. She is bound and determined to make Brad see that she is not the woman she was when they first met.

I still cling to hope and I believe in love,

And that's faith enough for me.

-- Rush

BOOK 11 - THE PRECIOUS LITTLE

Fallout. Russ refuses to leave his apartment. Not even Rita can coax him out into the open. Robert braces himself for a long, hot summer. Renee picks herself up and tries her best to wipe the egg from her face. But it's Nicole who gets the surprise of her life when she is told she must rescind Brett's grade on the Presidential Report. Lines have been blurred, but it won't be long before some of them vanish completely.

Though we might have precious little,

It's still precious.

--Rush

BOOK 12 - COMMENCEMENT

Bringing the First Series to a close, Russ finally emerges from his shell, although it is clear he will not be back to normal any time soon. Rita gets some surprising news that will make her alternate career a little more difficult. Nicole takes a stand in the debate over Brett's Presidential Report grade. Crystal chooses the man she wants to give her virginity to. And while Catherine is away at another trade show, Robert finally has some alone time with Rachel...something he is going to regret. This may be the final book of the series, but this is, by far, NOT the end.

It's good to be king.

Whatever it pays
